Privacy Policy

QuantumSimulation is a quantum-simulation platform available at quantumsimulation.in, operated by QuBorn (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum needed to run your account and never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

• Account data you provide at sign-up: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), and optional fields such as organization, country code, mobile number, profession and gender.
• Content you create: quantum circuits and optical experiments you save to the cloud.
• Security & technical data: recent sign-in events, IP address and browser/user-agent, used to protect your account and operate the service.
• Cookies: a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in (see section 5).

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• To save and sync your projects across devices.
• To send essential account emails (verification, password reset, security notices).
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
• To understand, in aggregate, which features are used so we can improve them.

3. Legal bases (where applicable, e.g. GDPR)

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), for our legitimate interests (security and improvement), and with your consent where required (e.g. optional analytics).

4. Sharing & third parties

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• We use a small number of service providers strictly to operate the platform — for example, our hosting provider and an email delivery service — who process data only on our instructions.
• We may use privacy-respecting analytics; this is aggregate and does not identify you personally.
• We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in (an HttpOnly session cookie). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics we run is configured to respect your privacy.

6. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed after a short grace period. You can export or delete your projects at any time from Settings.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with argon2id, sessions ride in HttpOnly cookies, traffic is served over HTTPS, and access to your data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow current best practices.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in Settings, or contact us.

9. Children

QuantumSimulation is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located in other countries. Where required, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the platform evolves; material changes will be reflected by the date below.
